Through the ABF Military Partnership for Supervisors (AMPS), we are creating job opportunities for military personnel transitioning to their new civilian career. ABF Freight is a proud partner in this initiative, training soldiers across the country for a career in the less-than-truckload (LTL) freight industry. Training is currently available at service centers throughout the country.

The AMPS program is designed to give you the tools you need to be a successful Operations Supervisor for ABF Freight. The ABF Operations Supervisor position supervises all activities of service center frontline employees and supports the personnel engaged in loading and unloading activities.

General description of duties:

Plan, supervise, and control available resources associated with timely, damage-free and safe loading/unloading of freight on assigned shifts.

Maintain appropriate load plans and ensure proper load balance for safe vehicle operation.

Assign job tasks to workers according to unloading and loading schedules.

Coordinate work assignments and monitor performances.

Provide training, performance feedback, and disciplinary recommendations, as needed.

Provide a clean, safe working environment for all personnel and visiting customers.

Foster safe handling, loading, unloading, and storage of hazardous materials.

Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment.

Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals.

Other duties and projects, as assigned.

The training program is 8 weeks long with guaranteed job placement in one of our 240 service centers across the country upon successful completion. The work schedule varies by location with irregular hours depending on workload and includes a competitive salary and benefits.

    • In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the pay for this position is between $36,900.00 - $111,800.00 per year.

Sick Pay

5 days per calendar year.
