Management Training Program, Operations Supervisor

Bedford Park, IL

ArcBest is a leading logistics company with creative problem solvers who deliver integrated solutions for complex supply chain challenges. With services provided by less-than-truckload carrier, ABF Freight, and maintenance and repair company, FleetNet America, we are fully equipped to deliver knowledge, expertise, and a can-do attitude with every shipment and supply chain solution, household move, or vehicle repair.

When ABF Freight, an ArcBest carrier, began operations in 1923, our goal was simple: to deliver less-than-truckload freight with precision and skill. And while weve updated our equipment, adopted new technologies and added solutions to better serve our customers, this ambition has never changed. Through the hard work and commitment of our drivers, dockworkers and other personnel, weve developed the reputation of being one of the best LTL carriers in the industry and we take pride in that.

Wanting to join the ABF Freight family? In our search for top talent, we are looking for those that will further enable us to deliver on our vision and fully support our values-driven culture. Our pace of expansion means were looking for people with The Skill & The Will to serve customers who depend on us for customized transportation and logistics solutions.

Our Management Training Program has won acclaim from such prestigious publications as Training and Selling Power magazines. As a member of the Program, you will learn to manage the operations of a global logistics solutions provider.

It's More than a Job; It's a Career.

When joining our Management Training Program, you will join the company as an Operations Supervisor. The program is a 15-week program and you will be trained on every aspect of our company and industry from a service center perspective. You will be working at one of our 240 nationwide Service Centers. Willingness to relocate is key to this program.

Your training is centered around learning the role of front-line operational supervisors and gaining new insight into safety, maintenance and transportation procedures. This orientation enables you to observe supervisors during the operational shifts (inbound, outbound, city and DC) of an ABF Freight Service Center.

You will also have a glimpse into Sales by spending time with ArcBest Account Managers. By accompanying account managers on client presentations, you will learn the dynamics of proactively managing ArcBest accounts.

Placement

After training, you will be placed in one of our more than 240 facilities across the continental United States as an Operations Supervisor. Those in our top management positions all paved their way by developing and strengthening their own abilities throughout their ArcBest and ABF Freight careers.
